Hero Wavelength Spectral Sampling successfully implemented!
Both: 4 samples per pixel
Left: one wavelength per ray
Right: four wavelengths per ray
With only a modest increase in runtime duration, the image becomes much smoother. This is more efficient than just adding more samples per pixel!
As a bonus, I've also uploaded a video showing me making this from start to finish, which you can find here: https://youtu.be/lotjjKttXHY
This project took about 10 hours in total. It's sped up 250x, but still 24 min long.
I finally finished it!
Here's a render of Snoopy's doghouse decorated for the holidays!
Really happy with how this one turned out - it's almost exactly as I envisioned it. Created and rendered in Blender 4.3, with Cycles.
My render of Powdered Toast Man is featured in BlenderNation's Best of Blender Artists: 2024-51.
It's always exciting to have my work featured among so many other talented people!

Here's the second render I made of the Blaster Master tank!
Same animation for the tank as before, but with a camera that moves between the front and the side, and which bounces along with the action a lot more.
Here's the first of two final renders of this Blaster Master tank animation!
This one has the camera spinning around the same way as the still renders I did a while ago.
Happy with how this turned out!
Another motion and materials test before I do some finals of this tank!
Not quite sure about the jet flames or the dust... I had to redo them from the original for animation, and they're close to what I want. Just need a little more work.
Testing some motion for this Blaster Master tank... not quite where I want it yet, but getting there!
Updated this render of the Blaster Master tank, as envisioned by @androidarts, and rendered it in Blender 4.3!
Might be fun to put the wheels and tank in motion at some point!
Here's the dot pattern loop with some noise added and the max height amped up a bit!
Geometry nodes in Blender makes creating things like this pretty easy, but this is my first go at it.
I always find these types of loops so hard to look away from - they're mesmerizing!
Here's another one of those abstract loops. I like the colors in this one, but the jury is still out on the configuration of the depth of field.
I kinda want to get back to making some more stuff with these assets (with some improvements, of course).
Maybe next week, if I get a moment before Thanksgiving.
Here's an animation I made a while ago and forgot to post!
Still iterating on this roller coaster thing. Here it is rendered in Cycles, with better tilt easing and... trees!
