pixi tales - think

A Pixel Art Comic featuring Pixi, a chibi character wearing something akin to a blue space suit.

First Panel: Pixi and another character are sitting by on the floor. The other character and the background has sketch lines.

Second Panel: There's some grass with flowers growing around Pixi, as her eyes get more separated. The other character (now only having sketch lines in their head) says "Do you ever think-" before getting cut off.

Third Panel: "no." says Pixi, now having her eyes as separated as possible. The other character reacts surprised. The grass and flowers finished growing everywhere.

Fourth Panel: Both Pixi and the other character are staring at a sunset, with the latter having a water drop of embarrassment behind their head.

Imagine thinking.

Pixel art of a stone spine clinging to the jaw of a cliff. Arches, like hollowed breaths, punctuate the weathered face of the structure, windows gazing out as vacant eyes. The building is a fossil of ambition, each stone a solidified memory, etched with the language of forgotten hands. A path, a silver ribbon unspooling, invites passage towards the shadowed mouth of the entrance. Greenery spills like liquid jade around the base, a wild counterpoint to the rigid geometry. Steps descend, a broken spine of stone, dissolving into the belly of the mist – a descent into the earth’s long dream. The landscape is a crumpled cloth of peaks and valleys, stitched together with the threads of shadow. Rocky outcroppings are the knuckles of a sleeping giant. Mist, a slow-breathing spirit, fills the hollows, blurring the edges of reality. In the distance, hills roll like frozen waves, punctuated by spires – the petrified cries of the land. The image has a CRT filter applied.

From a series of voxel art tributes to childhood game nostalgia I made in the 2000s.

As there were no voxel editors yet, I made them by extruding polygons in 3ds Max.

A tiled background of a structure consisting of four interlocked loops, arranged in a checker pattern, with each loop shaped like a pair of circles connected by a line. The loops are each a different colour: red, yellow, green and blue. Inside each of the circular component of the loop is a dot of a different colour. Finally, in the empty space of the checker pattern are small rings formed from eight dots of alternating colours.

Of course, I could not leave out a still full character shot of Phi's form "rage".
I did this as a study for a weekly challenge last week but its intention was for today.

I was not able to finish what I wanted for my OC's birthday. Phi means the world to me but work has been a slog (why does GDC have to be this month...)
Here are some shots of what exactly I am working on though. I hope to have a refined preview video soon!

Pixel art of a stone leviathan, beached upon a spine of rock. The structure, a skeleton of grandeur, claws at a bruised sky, its towers like the broken teeth of a forgotten god. Steps, a petrified waterfall, lead to a mouth of an entrance, framed by crumbling sentinels draped in emerald veins of ivy. An archway, a hollowed promise, guards a darkness within, while a smaller door breathes secrets into a shadowed throat. A breach in the wall spills a glimpse of a lost heart – a courtyard where a fountain sleeps, a silver tear in the stone. Windows, vacant eyes, stare out upon a world reclaimed by green. Above, a smaller tower, a weathered finger, points towards the gathering storm, crowned with a silent bell – a frozen chime. Below, a clearing, a breath held in the stone’s chest, offers a fragile patch of green. Collapsed walls reveal passages, dark arteries leading to a gate – a stone eyelid closing on centuries. The sky swells with the weight of coming rain. The image has a CRT filter applied.

Today's @pixel_dailies prompt was "tiger", so... yeah, a tiger. But I had to use the colors for #blaseball's Hades Tigers because Tigerbeams forever.

Also the timelapse clearly shows when I switched to a less complex reference image and stopped struggling so badly lol. Also it helped to focus on one half of the face.
