A new study: Examining gender-specific mental health risks after gender-affirming surgery: a national database study is being used by right-wing outlets to imply that gender-affirming care causes worse mental health outcomes. This includes a certain bog-vole who xeeted it out from his xitter account.

The study doesn't find this, only that people who seek gender-affirming care have worse mental health (by some metrics) than those who don't. There are also some methodological issues with the study.
My medical student friend is writing the journal about both the methodological issues, and the harm the study is causing due to its wording. She is asking for help finding examples this article being cited to imply trans people shouldn't receive gender-affirming care
I am helping her collate a list, if you see any examples of this, please reply to this thread and I will add them to the list.
